To Whom It May Concern,
I had the pleasure of meeting Matt Brown and experiencing WSEGL firsthand at Midwest Fest 2024. Even among the hustle and bustle of the convention, the WSEGL booth stood out. Matt’s corner of the exhibitor alley wasn’t just another vendor space- it felt like a welcoming, inclusive haven for everyone who visited.
What struck me most was Matt’s unwavering commitment to the community. Despite how exhausted he was, he stayed at his post, ensuring every visitor felt seen and included. He even went out of his way to help neighboring booths, like mine, stay comfortable and energized. He was standing and walking around every time I managed to pop by to see if he needed anything, and I didn’t realize until reading a tweet he posted after the convention that he even HAD a wheelchair, which further spoke to my heart as to how far he takes his mission to work hard to support others.
Matt’s passion for accessibility and inclusion was evident in every interaction. His booth, filled with adaptive gaming gear and thoughtful giveaways (and people enjoying them), was more than just a display- it was a testament to his mission of making gaming a space for everyone.
I’m grateful for the chance to have crossed paths with Matt and WSEGL, and thankful to call him a friend in the space in the year since our first meeting. WSEGL’s work isn’t just about gaming; it’s about fostering a sense of belonging and creating real, positive change.
With appreciation,

I had the privilege of attending the Abilities Expo in Los Angeles from March 10-12, 2023, and wanted to reflect on what was truly a transformative experience.
As a volunteer at the WSEGL (Warriors and Survivors eSports Gaming Lounge) vendor booth, I was immersed in an environment where technology, inclusion, and community converged. It was more than a showcase - it was a sanctuary of hope and innovation. From adaptive gaming setups using Logitech and Microsoft devices to the universal joy that gaming brought, every moment felt deeply meaningful.
One of the most powerful moments was witnessing the founder and CEO of WSEGL, Matthew Brown, engage with families - welcoming them, encouraging them, and showing by example that this space was built for everyone. His presence wasn't just professional; it was deeply personal, and it set the tone for everything WSEGL stands for.
What struck me the most was the way WSEGL bridged generational and physical divides. Children, parents, gamers with disabilities and without - all found common ground in play. It wasn't just about access; it was about belonging.
This experience left me inspired and more committed than ever to advocating for accessibility, inclusion, and the power of play to heal and unite.

To the WSEGL Team,
I want to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to volunteer at your booth during the Abilities Expo in Los Angeles in 2023. It was a true honor to serve as both a helper and photographer for WSEGL - a space that radiated empowerment, connection, and joy.
I was deeply moved by the positive energy flowing through the booth. People of all ages and abilities stopped by with curiosity, left with inspiration, and often lingered in moments of genuine fun. Watching them discover adaptive gaming - some for the very first time - reminded me how powerful inclusion through play can be. You gave visitors more than just information; you gave them a glimpse of freedom, possibility, and belonging.
The size of the Expo was overwhelming at first, but standing with WSEGL grounded me. The innovation all around was incredible- assistive technologies and medical devices that are changing lives. But your booth felt personal. It was about people. And it was clear from every smile and conversation that WSEGL is more than a vendor, it's a movement.
Thank you for the chance to be part of it. I learned so much, captured moments I'll never forget, and felt proud to help share your mission. Please keep me in mind for future events - I'd be honored to support WSEGL again.
With appreciation and respect,
Ron

A Timely Rescue,
A few years ago, I was working with an IT team and found myself in a situation that quickly spiraled out of control. We were tasked with recycling a massive backlog of old computers—dozens upon dozens of desktops, monitors, printers, and cables. It was an overwhelming amount of equipment, and to make matters worse, I had a tight deadline and no one to assist me. I didn’t know who to contact, what the proper steps were, or even how to begin tackling the logistics. The pressure was mounting, and burnout started to creep in.
One evening, I found myself venting to an old colleague, Matt, over the phone. He listened patiently as I explained the situation—exhausted, frustrated, and at a complete loss. As luck would have it, Matt was working for a non-profit organization at the time, and they were actively looking for computer equipment to donate to local kids in need. Without hesitation, and knowing I was in a time crunch, Matt booked a flight to Moncton, then drove down to my hometown of Tracadie.
He arrived late that night at my parents’ place. We barely had time to catch up—we were both exhausted—but we knew we had work to do. Early the next morning, we headed to my workplace and loaded a mid-size U-Haul with as much equipment as we could safely fit: computers, monitors, printers, and more. Once everything was secured, Matt hit the road and drove all the way to Montreal to deliver the donations.
The sense of relief I felt was immeasurable. What had started as a stressful, isolating ordeal ended up as something profoundly rewarding. Not only did Matt help pull me out of a logistical nightmare, but together we were able to make a real difference for kids who needed access to technology. It reminded me how important it is to lean on your network, and how sometimes, the right help shows up exactly when you need it most.
