Why choose Non Profit gaming

🎮 Why Nonprofit Gaming Matters

And Why Booking WSEGL Is So Much More Than Just Games.

💡 Why We Exist as a Nonprofit

WSEGL isn’t an arcade.
We’re not an entertainment company.
We’re not a for-profit mobile gaming trailer.

We are a federally registered nonprofit because the communities we serve — disabled youth, cancer survivors, neurodivergent families, and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals — have historically been excluded from safe, accessible gaming spaces.

We created WSEGL to make sure they’re not left behind.
Every event, every console, every controller — is about dignity, belonging, and access to joy.

📅 What Happens When You Book WSEGL for an Event?

You’re not just hiring a service.
You’re creating a fully adaptive, trauma-informed, inclusive experience that leaves a lasting legacy.

Every WSEGL event includes:

  • Fully customized gaming setups with adaptive controllers (Logitech, Microsoft, RJ Cooper)

  • Support staff trained in trauma-informed care, disability advocacy, and inclusive hosting

  • Curated game libraries that avoid violence and promote safe, joyful co-play

  • Emotional accessibility tools like sensory-friendly zones, quiet spaces, and legacy art kits

  • Digital storytelling tools (via SparkOS) to help guests capture and share their healing

  • Free take-home items for youth in need (care kits, affirming stickers, story cards)

Whether it’s Pride, a school open house, a health fair, a nonprofit conference, or a community BBQ — we bring healing through games, not just gameplay.

💰 What Does It Cost Us to Run an Event?

Every WSEGL event includes massive behind-the-scenes effort to ensure safety, accessibility, and meaning:

Expense Category Approximate Cost
Transportation + Fuel $75–$300 (depending on location)
Equipment Prep + Rigging $150–$400
Staff/Volunteer Time $0 paid (all volunteer), but 20–40 hours of prep and delivery
Insurance + Liability $100–$200 per large event
Care Kits + Merch Giveaways $5–$15 per guest
Licensing + Admin Costs $20–$50 per event

🎯 Total per event: $300–$800+ (which can explode to $4000 to travel to destinations like Vancouver, Los Angeles and beyond)
All raised through:

  • Private donors

  • Wishlist items

  • Community merch

  • In-kind partnerships

🤝 Why We Fundraise

We fundraise to ensure:

  • No child pays to play.

  • No cancer survivor is turned away.

  • No disabled gamer has to explain their needs twice.

  • No event space gets denied just because they can’t afford “entertainment rates.”

When you donate or sponsor WSEGL, you fund:

  • Consoles for Care

  • Accessible gaming chairs, rigs, and setups

  • Legacy storybooks and Sparkstream access for youth

  • Training sessions for schools, nonprofits, and caregivers

  • Public pop-ups in parks, farms, Indigenous communities, and underserved towns

WSEGL brings community, not cost barriers.
Every dollar we raise goes right back into the system that helped build it. We’re not here to get rich. We’re here to make others feel rich in joy, dignity, and play.
